About: The Last Miners (Pt 2)

How many got Black Lung?
all caused by that bitch thatcher good riddance
They didnt do enough for these guys when the last shift finished. Really a government representative should have been there and they should have had a type of celebration when they came up. I am an English guy who lives in Germany and and they recently closed their last pit here too. That was sad too. But when the guys came up the brass band was playing and they made a big thing of it.. Here they came up and had to face a barrage of photographers.
This is a sad video for me as an ex miner I cried all through this video has a miner of 25 years God bless lads πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§
I'm not from the north but I can just imagine what these lads are going thru! These are real men who loved there jobs and there way of life! I hope all these men find work what there happy.

Yours truly

A southern fairy.
Should make it a tourist attraction.

27:59 nothing to worry.. underground is done now out of mining is new challenges recycling more fun next 50 year s. Never ending life cycle of humanity
Good riddance. Coal was profitless as far back as the 60s, miners wages were funded by the taxpayer, which was hurting the UK economy big time. Time to move on, Scotland's coal fired power stations are now closed, everyone's on gas. That miner complaining about hoovering, go play some golf or volunteer then. Instead, got handed a job out of pity.
OMG! SoyBoy 51:20 His dad must be so ashamed
In kent we lost our pits long before the loss of the big k
Scargill was right, who would of thought that in just 31 years every last coal mine in the uk would be closed. I’m fully behind eco friendly environment etc, but while we’re still burning coal then why not mine it from the uk! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§
And the ending to this film made me genuinely happy
Jesus, the tape of life is one hell of a way to signify your usable life. :O Use your nearest tape measure and see.
Where is part one?
The young lad saying that he'd of worked there forever just goes to show theres still some decent grafting lads about in this generation.
I finished at Ellington combine the big E 1994 my heart dropped 24 years a working miner shut he pits but I'm still a miner some people know me as the last coal miner at Dinnington village Newcastle upon Tyne a proud and sad thing to be tagged with been the last in generations in mining πŸ’€πŸ˜’πŸ‘Š
