About: Tehachapi_(1990) SP Coal Train With 13 Locomotives ***(300th Video)***
BEst sound of an EMD
I crank My speakers all the way UP for this video!
crazy, how many drivers on this train???
don't see coal trains like that in California any more, thank goodness
Brute grunting raw power ?
That's music to my ears.
Should have had an Espee bay window caboose for aesthetics
Beautiful video, excellent filming & presentation, thank you my friend
I wish you happy day 🍁
Good lookin' Female conductor Don't seen those very often.
Pourindiesel i agree, but about this it took a variety of EMD SD 45 -T's, SD 40-2's and a not sure, but i think was just an SD 45, they needed 6 crew members to run that train. 13 massive locomotives, that was awesome, But today the BNSF and the UP can lift the same size train over the same with 3 locomotives on the point and 1 DPU pushing, i've seen it done, and 2 crew members, now that's awesome.
In this video I’m spooled up deep. Average weight about 160,000 rare 76,000 running a fiat allais tug boat engine with full inter axel wheel lock deployment and sand spreader on stand by. 850,000 tracktive drive to dah rail. Let’s go with throttle up. Notch seven please. Puuuuuuuuuulllllllll
You wonder what the power consist would be like in for such a train in 2019. I'd say three in the front, four in the middle and one in the rear, all modern widecab locomotives with AC traction.
I like watching these train videos, but I'm not very knowledgeable about them. I have question that maybe someone can help me with. When you have a train with multiple locomotives, does each one have to have a engineer on board controlling it or is all done by the one in the lead? If it is done by just the lead, how does it communicate with the other locomotives?
I'm in the UK....mega-long trains like this are unknown....but there's something about these slow moving leviathans that is fascinating!
Just Truly Awesome Video!! Listening to those Screaming EMDs is pure heaven to my ears!!
Right from the Start I immediately had fond, fond memories of my days 40+ yrs ago when I was working Flightline Security with the USAF and the Distinct Sound of one of those Huge C5A Galaxies taxiing for takeoff!! Nothing could replace those Great EMDs!! ☺✌Ty
5 miles down the road from me the SP/UP yard in Roseville cruise down there and see/hear 50 engines idling
Imagine Stillwater Minnesota in 1985 and beyond if BN would have gotten the bid to deliver coal to the King Power Plant in Bayport Minnesota instead of UP. What became the Zephyr tourist train, now a bike trail would have had 20 car sections of trains going down to squiggly hill on the north end of town, past the boat docks, fancy bars, upsetting tourists there to see the old lift bridge,, past more bars,, rattling antiques off of shelves in stores. I imagine the tree huggers wouldn’t have shut up until UP got the bid to bring it through Bayport.
Que coisa linda !
Um trem enorme e pesado.
