About: Strike84 Images from the 1984 Miners Strike UK (Short Version).

ARTHUR told the truth as he knew it, who could have known what  MAGGIE and her greedy, unscrupulous set of deceitful liars had in store for many, many communities , the only wish she didn't act on was to bomb the miners (families), but she did at least put a direct phone line in to a R.A.F. base in case the strike became a little tiresome ,  look at the working man now (where?), and look at the gap between rich and poor, we  are allowed scraps, thank he kindly sir!?
Party time it is :-))
I will travel 4,000 miles to do the catering.
There are over four hundred years' worth of coal still to be mined in Britain. The government complains about jobs and the energy policy. The fix for all this is right under their feet.
Whats just as bad is the cases against two barristers of the firm Beresfords in Doncaster ,Yorkshire the pair siphoned tens of millions of pounds from the sick and elderly miners , claims from the Government Coal Health Compensation Schemes. It makes your heart bleed.
The premise of the film was Billy wanted to be a ballet dancer and not follow in his fathers footsteps of becoming a miner.
mrangry I will cater the event in Barnsley.
This SOB along with Scargill ruined my community of Wombwell [ SouthYorkshire] and the surrounding area, causing massive unemployment not only in the mines but Sheffield Steel. After nearly three decades later things still look bleak. Family member, neighbours and friends lost their livelyhoods, in some cases lives. Although I live in the States I contrubuted on a regular basis so that my twin sister could help out in the soup kitchens providing food etc. Thatcher will haunt me forever.
Then they call her Lady Thatcher when the steelworks shut down. Some call it progress then why didnt the Evil bitch have other Industries in place? May she burn in Hells pit ..
i would not waste my piss on her.clipstone pit is still fighting to keep our headstocks up and like the miners we will fight till the end.
ok so i just finished watching Billy Elliot for the second time but now i am old enough to question it. can someone please explain very simply what happened in england with the strikes and the mining and if someone has seen billy elliot the movie, if you can refer to it. because i am so confused. plz anyone!
Hope the devil does fuck her when she dies, with sharp pointed fiery sticks up her arse for ever and ever!!!!
Same here mate, some of my TV heroes were the police, Starsky, Kojak, Regan from The Sweeney, hard men but fair. Until the strike, ever since I have just seen them as tools of repression doing that evil bitch Thatcher's dirty work
please invite me so I can dance/piss on the bitch's grave
Fuck Maggie Thatcher!
This was the worst time in my opinion of the last fifty years. I was in the Military then and could not believe how aggressive the Police became to ordinary folk. They were more like an Occupation force!I was pro Police before this but i've never trusted them since !
@petehall1985 The human side of things don't matter to a tory mate. It's all about "growth" and fucking figures to them. They say Thatcher left the economy "healthy" but I don't know who for. Not for us who lost our jobs, when they floggedoff or shut down all our industries. The money those yuppies and city slickers spent on cocaine and prositutes came from those selloffs, the price was paid by us and our communities.
@bolloxinator Its not about political parties as you well know there are only 2 in contention all the time in most western societies. They are one and the same working for the Banking Elite....Its made to look like Democracy..Prime example Obama and his false promises..They tell you what you want to hear until you suffer and then..its too late
@dhelmo The scrounging is going on at the top of the food chain mate, not the bottom. Corporations dodging taxes to the tune of around 7 billion a year, bankers getting bailed out for greed and mismanagement and still giving themselves multimillion bonuses while we get a VAT hike, unaffordable energy prices now the tories have taken the leash off, and billionaires squirreling money into offshore accounts to dodge tax. Look upward, not down. The tories created the so-called benefits trap.
@aeronuk1 Yeh but the it was this bastard Thatcher and her tories that fucked british industry, so they get that extra special heartfelt and deserved hatred.

Coal stock

Coal is extracted from the ground by coal mining, either underground by shaft mining, or at ground level by open pit mining extraction.

Coal is primarily used as a solid fuel to produce electricity and heat through combustion. World coal consumption was about 7.25 billion tonnes in 2010 The price of coal increased from around $30.00 per short ton in 2000 to around $150.00 per short ton as of September 2008. In early 2015, it was trading near $56/ton.
