About: Old Abandoned Gold Mine With Steam Elevator
I'm glad it's you down there and not me ..🐣🐔
Ohh this nails it, your the coolest nerd ever. I’ve watched way too many mining videos and this one would be the one I’d take when I get stranded on a desert island. Also I found myself watching the repair of an old tube tv at 4 in the morning wtf. Highly recommend this to all you fucks out there.
Chema is a nickname for guys named José María (Joseph Mary) or José Manuel (Joseph Immanuel).
A 3d film of something like this could be cool.
Here we have a cage. You go in the cage. Cage goes in the water. Shark’s in the water. Our shark. (Couldn’t resist)
Love that steam powered hoist! Apparently putting something deep in the ground wasn't enough to protect it from thieving idiots.
btw "tu papa cheina muerte" = "Your father cheats death" in spanish :)
Why would you put a political message in the middle of your mildly entertaining video? Not very smart. Dumb even. Some might say retarded. Also, when it's the right temperature, the right time of day and my balls have a nice sweaty sheen. It's nice to just watch them glisten in the morning sun.
I thought this was flithy frank
F-f-f-filt-hy fr-rank? Is that u?!
people do tend to lose perpective on time while under gruond.
"Hopefully no one will die" Lmao...
Btw, I just looked up the name Lee Dusbabek you showed on the door at 22:32
. It turns out he graduated in 1974 (the year he wrote on the door), and is on facebook.
If that was a steam hoist, how did they vent the exhaust fumes from the coal burning ?
Or was the steam piped in ?
Amazing steam elevator! Like going back in time 100 years. thanks for taking us with you.
What is the name of the mine ❓
Your videos are outstanding. I just wish you would allow viewers to read the miners graffiti. By the way, an air control door that didn't completely cut off air flow really wasn't worth building. Many times it was necessary to control blasting gases from reaching parts of the mine that were occupied. It takes very little gas from AMFO to make some people sick. Note: the stacked rock wall at 24:07
is called 'gobbing'. It was a way to store waste instead of hauling it out. Sorry if you have already mentioned this in other videos. I haven't seen that many of yours until now. Your video quality is really good. Lots of light and few rapid camera movements.
I hear FilthyFrank at the start!
Great video. The main reason for the gasketed door was the fact that you couldn't keep a candle lit with the air blowing down the tunnel. It probably would have extinguished acetylene lamps also.
those safety locks on the hoist are the original patent Ottis elevator safety lock if the cable breaks :)
