Those people are real Americans-hard working, family people, loyal. He has a nice home and wonderful family. As far as being a Trump supporter-he doesn't know any better. I hate seeing those men under ground and it scares the hell out of me. I'm trying not to judge in my comment, trying to look at the bright side of the dark world of coal miners.
insane to not wear a mask and know better. wish they wore
I will never complain about anything again.
Ignorant and stupid! I do not want to use my tax payers to subsidize these jackasses, if you do not have the sense to leave you deserve what you get, Trump supporters not surprised.
Look at all these expert beta liberals in the comment section that have never had a real physical job in their life. Coal gives good salaries and provides many chances for these rural towns. The only thing that makes me upset is that he is not wearing any breathing protection.
Retire at 62? WTF? In Europe they retire coal miners with pension after 20 years service due to health reasons.
the only thing i do not like about coal is that it's dirty, and yeah i know we have coal that is supposedly cleaner but its still dirty either way. we shouldn't shift our use of coal to produce metals and things and not use it so much for electricity
White Slaves.....
Even these whites believe 1 day they can be Donald Trup....
White Hope is powerful...
Elite whites use poor white people to power the system.... Black Lung, cave in's , poor health, are better options then being Black.....
The Hoi Polloi need the money for Mountain Dew AkA Aplachan Gold...
My hard working brothers and sisters. Lots of love from cali
"He's [Donald Trump] a down-to-earth person." ...Donald Trump is a billionaire with a golden toilet. He's the exact opposite of a down-to-earth person.
Peak stupidity.
how can you.... renew an industry....or a job that... relies on a dirty NON-RENEWABLE source of energy??? This is such a niche market because these guys are only supplying coal to the steal mills in their region... what happens when the coal runs out??? What are you going to mind then? And on a national level where with companies get their coal when it completely runs out? Hell even natural gas makes more sense over coal. Trump just playing yall asses just like everyone else who voted for him. He'll say whatever you need to hear in order to get your vote knowing damn well he could care less about some bush whacking country folk esp him being a yankee and ontop of that hes the guy who keeps the "little guy" oppressed... hello?? I respect the whole going to work and busting your ass... but coal is dead. Why wouldnt yall want to look into a renewable clean energy source like solar or wind? What is honestly so wrong about that??? Who cares if "coal produces more energy then solar" hell atleast youll be healthy and what does that honestly matter to the worker? I know people in the clean energy sector that are making bank working on wind turbines. Not killin themselves in a dark abyss breathing shit thatll give you black lung. Why wouldnt you want to get out of this field of work? And that kid calling himself dumb and said he couldnt go to college, brother if you keep yourself in that negative mindset this is all youll ever know and you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.
Unfortunately it is unlikely jobs will ever return to these regions. The movement from rural to suburban and urban areas has been happening for centuries and this is just an extension of that process. There are just more people living in the appalachian counties than they can support.
So they don’t know what’s going on in the world, admits he's not very bright, hasn't been on an airplane, hasn't traveled and doesn't feel like he needs to..😩. Let's just say it's easy to see why these people voted for Trump! They're way too easily manipulated.
The black heart of America. More like The black lung of America.
if this town ever got a chance to stand the test of time, changes need to be made, otherwise its gonna die out. so the ratio of man and women, seems like has been offset, due to the coal mining and in future can become even a bigger problem. i like the friendly and family nature that are shown. as a danish guy here, from denmark, we dont have minumum wages, our unions are strong and each year, the wages is on the table, sometimes its getting a raise, most places here pay anything for 18-25dollars for people with low education, like never completed school and such. well you can say past 50 years or so, the american life style has changed heck of alot and its towards the people with the money and lower classes getting screwed over now, so the rich guy can make anone dime :/
our country uses hydropower, geothermal power and wind energy to run our electricity,
Trump hasnt done much for these poor coal miners tho
