About: After Coal Mines Shut Down, Communities Are Hoping For A Prison | NBC News
How do they plan on filling them up? Maybe we can criminalize the possession of alcohol? I'm sure there are lots of other ideas out there.
As bad as a depressed economy is, its pretty sad when small towns turn to prisons as a source of economic growth. Why not build a small college or a trade school instead and teach the young people skills so that they can find employment in the cities. That way, they can drive back to the small town on weekends to do some fishing or hiking.
Gwen and Arthur Christian are such great people .Theyre always helping the community in letcher and knott county Kentucky. The IGA grocery store they own in the town of isom Kentucky is based on the value of community help and community service for everyone that does business with them. If only our president seen the proud citizens that love the land they grew up in, I know he would have to find a good medium for all of these great people that care about their home. The pride here in this location of Kentucky is the #1 best place for a happy but also productive work environment for any kind of business that can save people the one thing that makes this country great. The value of a homeland commodity! Let's make America great again and save this precious piece of happiness and pride. #hometownproud
people losing their livelihoods is sad, but ceasing to burn coal and using alternative energies is a GOOD THING! looks like a great place for some type of rehabilitation center - but I hope your community can think of things that are even better! like going back to organic farming, sustainable eco-friendly energies, manufacturing products that DON'T destroy the environment - you can be an example for other communities & the whole world - such a beautiful place I hope your community can see the value rather than sadness
